Galina Dvoiris Hasin – Recent Immigrants Coordinator
They say that experience is the father of wisdom, and that idiom may as well be about Galina. Because from among all of us, who understands the essence of immigration better than someone who immigrated here herself, and not that long ago either?
Galina coordinates the Connect Jerusalem program for young recent immigrants in Jerusalem, in cooperation with the immigration authority and the immigration office. And it’s very important mostly because Jerusalem is the biggest receiver of immigration in Israel!!! In fact, thousands of young people come to Jerusalem every year, from all over the world. Here they face the same difficulties as the rest of us, but in a foreign language. Add to that the sense of loneliness, and you can probably imagine how challenging it is… For this reason exactly we have Galina. As part of her work, Galina deals not only with career development, personal consultation and integrating immigrants in quality positions in Jerusalem, she also does everything she can to provide social support for those immigrants.
She does this through social activities in various languages, creating professional and social content, and of course – coordinating the round table of immigrant organizations in Jerusalem: once a month Galina meets the representatives of the various immigrant organizations and sits down with them to try and find ways to lighten up this city a little more.
